This course highlights best-known works by Spanish-language authors and creators, such as García Márquez, Alvarez, Allende, Borges, Cervantes and more. It is an overview of Spanish and Latin American civilization, culture, literature, and the arts from early to contemporary times while giving an introduction to the vocabulary and techniques of literary criticism and distinctive stylistic features of Spanish discourse.
