Description

A course that introduces the historical contributions and modern uses of epidemiology. The course will include basic tools of epidemiologic analysis, including case definitions and populations, incidence, prevalance, and case fatality rates. Students will consider the meaning, scope, and applications of epidemiology to public health practice and the use of vital statistics data in the scientific appraisal of community health. PUBH majors must pass with a grade of C or better.
