Description

This course will address the ethical issues of health policy and management in regard to a global perspective. Students will examine the economic, environmental, political, technological, institutional, and sociocultural dimensions which historically and currently contribute to both beneficial and adverse effects on populations, communities, and family/individual health. The course will address the ethical issues related to rationing of care; allocation and cost-efficiency for resources; ethical issues of corruption, kickbacks, and conflicts of interest; and the ethical aspects of research with human subjects in both developing and developed countries. PUBH majors must pass with a grade of C or better.
