Description

This course introduces the interdisciplinary field of Gender and Women’s Studies through a critical examination of the way gender, race, socioeconomic class, sexuality, disability, nationality, religion, and age are socially constructed. In this course we will engage with a variety of texts that critically
convey intersecting identities and will examine social aspects and issues throughout the world in which we live. Additionally, this course demonstrates how community engagement and social justice are inherent in Gender and Women’s Studies discourse.
