Notes

 Bits and Bytes
These are the notes you will need for the unit of the course on data representation that will run through Fall Break. The section on graphics  is best viewed directly on the computer to capture the colors and details of the pictures. This is the same file as the one on your CD except I just discovered that the conversion to PDF eliminated most of the formulas in the first part of the document. Hence the Word document on KC. Refer to this Web version for the sections on numbers.

This zipped folder contains a program called GraphicExplorer and a folder of pictures. Download the folder to the computer. Then extract the files: navigate to where the folder is located, right-click on it, and select Extract all. Follow the instructions of the dialog box.
A small demo of the program is on the tutorial/demo portlet.

Networks

(.gsp, 3K)
The test on network is Thursday, September 9. The problems in this review and the homework exercises are good preparation for the test. It will be a short  test (about 30 min.)
Solutions to the review will be posted on Wednesday at noon. It is very recommended to complete the problems BEFORE viewing the solutions.
